Job Title:   MICE Sales Manager

Purpose of Job: In this challenging role the MICE Sales Manager will be responsible for maximising the sales. Potential and achieving revenue budgets of the hotel as part of the sales & marketing team, from the following markets – conferencing to include local, national and global regions, meeting & events, local and global corporate, food & beverage and corporate incentive/group.

Location:  Dublin City

Main Duties: 
• To efficiently and effectively manage and oversee the functionality of conference department to include enquiries, contracts, yield management, weekly functions sheets and updates distributed by the team
• Perform day to day sales activity including lead generation, face to face meetings, contracting and rate negotiation, site inspections, attendance at trade shows, client entertainment and national and international sales trips where required
• To be fully aware of maximizing profit through controlling operating expenses with an emphasis on the Food & Beverage targets. To ensure forecast and weekly wages are in line with budgets
• Responsible for co-coordinating and managing a Sales & Marketing Plan covering all aspects of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events taking into account room hire, F&B and accommodation targets
• Undertake monthly tracking of conference accounts including bedroom related business within conference and corporate group sector. Monitoring production/performance and more importantly to identify any decreases and take necessary action to remedy same.
• To assist in the compilation of annual budgets
• Responsibility for ensuring weekly, monthly, yearly sales statistics/forecasts and any other information as requested by the General Manager/ S&M Director is completed in a timely manner
• Partake in hosting FAM trip & Client Evenings in conjunction with the sales & marketing plan
• Conduct regional sales calls regularly focusing on National Conference & Corporate Groups
• Assist in the development and promotion of weddings and events to local and regional markets
• Assist in the development of printed promotional materials including brochures, fliers, special offers, posters, tent cards etc. as required within the Sales Plan
• Responsible for building close relationships with key contacts in Dublin Convention Bureau, Meet in Ireland, DMC’s and PCO’s
• Utilisation of Alkimii CRM for logging all sales activity and measurement of KPI’s
• To ensure the accurate processing, distribution, recording/filing and follow up on all sales correspondence, including the execution of contracts, quotations, confirmations, cancellations, etc. Utilise CRM system for client database building
• To protect and promote the image of the hotel at all times, both in print and verbally
• To be fully aware of the main market developments and other factors that would influence business or create favourable market conditions
